— — — We are a family-owned company that honors and advances the tradition of upholstery in Hradec Králové. Polstrin’s history dates back to the 1930s, when the grandfather of our current CEO and owner, Karel Pacák, founded a leather and bag-making business in Třebechovice pod Orebem.

To us, a family business means a team of people who share the same values and work together to create something of lasting significance. That is exactly how the Polstrin family came to be.

We don’t believe in fast consumption or a world where furniture is just a temporary product. We don’t want to create things that will disappear in a few years because another trend will replace them. We believe in value that lasts. We create products designed to last for decades and become part of family stories – to witness everyday life, gatherings and quiet moments of the home.

Experience

We want our customers to truly experience Polstrin. Not just see it, but feel it. Our products can be tried out in the Hotel and Café Polstrin, where they become a natural part of the space. In our slowroom, we give you the space to slow down – we believe that choosing furniture takes time, touch and personal experience. We open the doors to the production so that you can see under the hands of our upholsterers and seamstresses and experience the honesty of the work that goes into each piece.

Responsibility

Sustainability is not a marketing slogan for us, but an everyday decision. It makes sense for us to work locally, to cooperate with craftsmen and companies from our region and not to support unnecessary movements of materials across the world. We feel responsible for the place where we live and create, for our employees and for the people who build their homes with our products. We cooperate with local institutions, schools and non-profit organizations and support sports clubs because we believe that a brand should be a natural part of its surroundings.

Consideration

We also reflect respect for the environment in our production – we minimize waste, process unused materials and look for ways to work more sustainably. We use photovoltaics, have a charger for electric cars and plan delivery routes so that they make sense not only economically but also ecologically.

Strong relationships

We build on long-term relationships with our partners and suppliers. Our greatest references are our customers who return – and whose children and friends choose our products too. Relationships within the company are equally valuable to us. We founded the 20 Club – a fifth of our employees have been with us for more than twenty years. This is proof for us that quality is not only created in the workshop, but above all in relationships.

Granada & Klasik

Based on designs by Karel Pacák Sr., the highly successful “KLASIK” and “GRANADA” sofa collections were brought to life.

The Siesta Armchair

Designed by Karel Pacák Sr., the innovative SIESTA armchair was the first in the country to utilize a new frame production technology: polyurethane foam molding using raw materials from East Germany (GDR) in fiberglass molds.

Karel Pacák Sr. joins the cooperative

Karel Pacák Sr. joined the cooperative as an upholsterer. He worked his way up through various roles, from technologist to production dispatcher.

The Founding of the Leather Goods Company

The father of Karel Pacák Sr. founded a leather goods and bag-making company in Třebechovice pod Orebem. However, the business was nationalized in 1948 following the political changes.
