Planum is an upholstery fabric from Kvadrat with a refined woven look and a smooth, soft surface. It comes in colors that inspire curiosity, created by Dutch design studio Raw Color.
The fabric is constructed from a simple double knit with a predominantly woolen surface.
To create a versatile color palette for Planum, Raw Color took a collection of three-dimensional objects as its starting point. The studio explored different directions and shades before making its final selection of 20 tones from 350 hand-painted samples.
Raw Color: “We decided to develop a color palette based on hand-painted swatches. This allowed us to create shades that are less expected and more unusual.”
Naturally for knitted fabrics, Planum has excellent stretchability, making it ideal for upholstering organic shapes while minimizing the number of seams. Suitable for both public and private use, the fabric combines well with the more voluminous, three-dimensional fabrics in the Kvadrat Febrik collection.
Composition: 44% WO, 42% PES, 14% PA

abrasion resistance: 100,000 DIN EN ISO 12947-2, pilling: 4, surface weight: 700 g/lm, flame retardant: yes, washable up to 30°C
